Sterling Lions Club Shootout: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Logan County Shooting Sports Complex, 12515 Highway 61, Sterling. Trap shooting, centerfire rifle, 1,000-yard competition, rimfire rifle, archery, .22 pistol and centerfire pistol, practical pistol competition. All competition is individual. Logan County Republican Golf Tournament: 10 a.m. shotgun start, 4 p.m. dinner, Riverview Golf Course, Sterling, 4-person scramble, $300 per team. Reserve your spot by calling 970-522-3034.

The children’s program “The Colors of Rural America”: 10 a.m. to noon, Overland Trail Museum. Learn how people brought beauty into their own lives and highlighted the colors of rural America, see barn quilts, take a guided tour of the “Crossroads-Change in Rural America” exhibit, enjoy snacks and more. Zion Congregational Church Soup Kitchen: 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., 5th Street and Chestnut. Come out the back door and down the stairs. Free. Meals will be served to anyone who is hungry and needs a hot meal.

Parkinson’s exercise course: 3:30 p.m., Heritage Center.

Safety presentation: 6 p.m., store across from Sterling Livestock Commission Co, 20197 Riverdale Dr., Sterling. The talk will focus on cyberbullying, luring sex offenders and other dangers, especially for teens.

Cards, cornhole, dominoes, billiards: 1:30 p.m., Heritage Center.

High School Volleyball Tournament: 4:00 p.m. Bank of Colorado Event Center on the NJC campus. Teams from area high schools compete against each other.
