This fan theory suggests two unexpected Stranger Things characters could be related

Stranger Things Season 4 goes into detail about Vecna’s backstory, showing how he developed psychokinetic abilities as a young child and caught the attention of Dr. Martin Brenner, aka Papa. Henry Creel was dubbed “001” by Hawkins Lab and was Papa’s first test subject. Over time, Henry grew up to become one of the caregivers under Brenner’s supervision, and that’s how he met young Eleven. However, one fan theory suggests that 001 and 011 have a more complex past, and specifically suggests that the two are related.

In 1979, Eleven and Henry formed an unlikely friendship at Hawkins Lab. Henry gave Eleven advice on how to deal with bullies, while Eleven offered to remove “Soteria” – a chip that suppressed his powers – from Henry’s neck. However, once One’s powers were restored, he went rogue and massacred the teaching staff and test subjects. He attempted to do the same to Eleven, who overpowered him and hurled him through an interdimensional portal. Now, evidence suggests that Henry and Eleven may be related. More specifically, Henry/Vecna ​​is Eleven’s biological father. The theory comes from the podcast Just The Nobodys and makes some compelling arguments for the unique connection between One and Eleven. As for Dr. Brenner, he knew all along that Eleven would be the offspring of One and Terry Ives, he just had to manipulate her from a young age into believing he was her “daddy” since her “real” father Henry Creel wasn’t around.

So Dr. Brenner waited until Number One got older to get him to mate with Terry Ives and create Eleven – to make sure she was the strongest, and she clearly is.”

So this means that Papa fathered One and Terry Ives because he knew they would procreate and create the most powerful child of all, whose full potential has yet to be discovered. There are some telltale signs of One and Eleven’s relationship, especially since Henry knows exactly how to trigger Eleven’s full powers and even tells her that she reminds him of himself. In “Chapter Six: The Dive”, Vecna ​​hints at the true identity of Eleven’s mother, but when Brenner hears this, he chastises him because he doesn’t want Eleven to know the truth. From the many flashbacks of season four, it can be deduced that Vecna ​​was 12 years old in 1959, meaning he was around 24 when Eleven was born in 1971.

This would also explain why Papa puts “Soteria” on One’s neck. He knew that an alliance between One and Eleven would have disastrous consequences. After learning that One had been banished to the Shadow World, Papa knew he would eventually return to seek revenge. While he was assembling an army in the Shadow World, Papa trained Eleven (and only Eleven) to prepare her for their inevitable battle. Their encounter in the Shadow World in Season 4 was just a small taste of what will happen in Season 5.

What Vecna ​​and Eleven’s relationship could mean for season 5

But what does this mean for Season 5? Well, the stakes will be higher than ever when Eleven finds out she has a relationship with One. Season 5 seems to be setting the stage for a final showdown between Eleven and Vecna, but when Eleven learns the truth about her father’s identity, she could face a moral conflict as she must make the tough decision of sparing her father’s life and sacrificing Hawkins, or destroying One for good and protecting her new, chosen family. Fans have long speculated that Eleven will die in Season 5 after sacrificing herself, but this could mean a Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader moment for Eleven and One just before their combined powers destroy each other.

All in all, it is one of the most convincing Stranger Things Theories. There have been some far-fetched theories over the years, but this one seems to be based in reality and has plenty of plot points to back it up. So, essentially, Eleven will be faced with the difficult decision of killing Vecna ​​or joining him, all with the added incentive of knowing that he is (possibly) her biological father. There is plenty of evidence to support this theory. Stranger Things to take this path, but fans are divided on whether the theory should be implemented.
