Three late changes to the UFC Vegas 95 card

There were some changes to fight week at UFC Vegas 95: two athletes were replaced and two fights were removed from the card.

The promotion returns to UFC Apex this Saturday (August 10), with a heavyweight rematch between Marcin Tybura and Serghei Spivac headlining the fight night.

However, several changes were made to the map during fight week.

Javid Basharat has been forced out of his fight against Chris Gutierrez. The reason for Basharat’s withdrawal was not disclosed, but Gutierrez remains on the card. Undefeated Quang Le will step in on extremely short notice and make his UFC debut in the process. Although Le has only competed 8 times as a professional, the 32-year-old has built a solid record under the LFA banner. He was originally scheduled to face Aaron Tau on the Contender Series this season, but will now step foot in the Octagon on Saturday night.

In another last-minute change of procedure, Nikolay Veretennikov will replace Uros Medic, who withdrew from the competition due to injury, and face Danny Barlow. Since his loss at the 2021 Contender Series, Veretennikov has competed three times, earning three wins by stoppage.

Allan Nascimento was scheduled to compete in a flyweight bout against Jafel Filho for the first time since January 2023. However, the Brazilian was forced to abandon his third consecutive fight, with his most recent withdrawal being due to illness.

Similar to Nascimento, Jonny Parsons has struggled to make regular appearances in the Octagon since signing with the promotion in 2021, having only competed in the Octagon once. “The Sluggernaut” will have to wait a while for his second appearance, as his welterweight bout against Yusaku Kinoshita is also off the schedule.

The fight night now includes 10 fights, all athletes will compete against each other tomorrow.
