Ticketmaster must end dynamic ticket pricing

I have purchased several concert tickets over the past year and for two of the shows I did so almost immediately when they went on sale.

The first was for Metallica at US Bank Stadium, where I wanted tickets to the Friday and Sunday night shows on a weekend when there were no repeats.

The other set was for Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper tonight at the Xcel Energy Center.

For both shows, I spent way more money than I needed to because Ticketmaster has dynamic ticket pricing. Basically, they increase ticket prices depending on demand.

For example, at Metallica, I paid $1,000 for two tickets for two nights, mind you, there were about $150 fees for each ticket, which is ridiculous in itself. I wanted to make sure I got the seats I wanted, but on the day they went on sale, about two weeks before the show, I found tickets for the same section in one or two rows for over $150 less per ticket. So I could have saved $300 by waiting, but I would have run the risk of not getting those seats.

For Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper I paid $99.50 per ticket plus almost $30 in BS fees, and on the day of the show seats in that section cost $79.50 per ticket.

It’s a shame that concerts have gone this way and Ticketmaster is allowed to play this way. The price should be the price no matter when you buy it. If someone wants to run for office with a promise to stop these profiteering and shady deals, I will vote for them.
