PARAGOULD, Arkansas (KAIT/Edited Press Release) – Tim Graves and the Farm Hands will play bluegrass, country and gospel at the next KASU-FM Bluegrass Monday concert. The show will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, August 26 at the Collins Theater in downtown Paragould.

Since its formation in 2010, the bluegrass band Farm Hands has won over 30 major bluegrass music awards. The Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA) has honored the group as Entertainer of the Year twice, Gospel Group of the Year five times, Album of the Year four times, and Song of the Year three times.

The band was also named Vocal Group of the Year and Band of the Year and was nominated for 70 awards.

The four members of the group have more than 150 years of combined experience as professional bluegrass musicians.

Tim Graves plays resonator guitar, an instrument often called a dobro. His uncle Josh Graves encouraged him to learn the instrument. He introduced the dobro to bluegrass music in the 1950s when he was a member of Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs’ band the Foggy Mountain Boys.

Graves has been named Dobro Player of the Year 16 times by the SPBGMA and was inducted into that organization’s Hall of Fame in 2015. He also received a Grammy for his contribution to the album “The Great Dobro Sessions.”

Banjo player Don Wayne Reno is the youngest son of Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame member Don Reno. Reno also began his professional music career as a teenager, first in his father’s band and later with his siblings as the Reno Brothers. He is also a former member of Hayseed Dixie, a band specializing in bluegrass versions of classic rock songs.

Bassist Terry Eldredge has performed in the bands of the duo Lonzo and Oscar, Wilma Lee Cooper and the Osborne Brothers, members of the Grand Ole Opry with whom he played for 10 years. He was also a singer in Larry Cordle’s band Lonesome Standard Time and was a long-time lead singer of the Grascals, singing on many of their No. 1 bluegrass hits.

Guitarist and singer Jimmy Haynes began performing professionally as a teenager with his family’s musical group. He is a former member of the James King Band and has appeared on numerous recordings by other bluegrass artists.
