Top 10 Amazing Things That Make Fall the Best Season in Minnesota

I think I can speak for everyone in Minnesota when I say, “Thank GOD we are through that horrific heat wave.” Thankfully, inventions like vaporizers were invented because they helped many people cool off during Tuesday’s extreme heat wave at the Minnesota State Fair.

I have good news, though. Cooler air is on the way and with it one of the most beautiful seasons of all: FALL!

Before we know it, the leaves turn a soft yellow. And instead of mowing, gardening becomes raking leaves. I remember as a kid building huge piles of leaves and jumping in them, surrounded by the unmistakable smell of dirt. We even took a few of our favorite leaves and put them in the Sears catalog to flatten them nice and flat.

What do you love most about autumn?

Some of my favorite photos of my kids are from our visits to the local pumpkin patches. Watching them pick out the “perfect” pumpkin is a key memory for me. Walking through an apple orchard and eating homemade apple pie is also a fall treat for me.

  • within a four-hour drive from a national park
