Toyota Sequoia 2025 gets Texas-inspired 1794 Edition, huge price increases on top trims

  • Toyota has introduced the 2025 Sequoia, which features a new 1794 trim level.
  • The 1974 Sequoia is well equipped with brown leather seats and real wood trim.
  • Prices start at $62,175 and some trims can increase prices by over $5,000.

The Toyota Sequoia enters the 2025 model year with numerous updates, including an all-new 1794 trim level. The absence of this trim level is surprising, as the Texas-themed trim level has been offered on the Tundra for more than a decade.

Essentially Toyota’s version of the Ford King Ranch, the 1794 Sequoia is a luxury full-size body-on-frame SUV that starts at $80,135. That’s just below the top-of-the-line Capstone, and buyers will find a striking exterior with oodles of chrome. The model also features 20-inch wheels, a panoramic glass roof, and a towing package with a Wi-Fi trailer camera.

Test report: The Toyota Sequoia has 437 hybrid horsepower and looks good too

The latter is a brand new rechargeable wireless camera that can be attached to your trailer. When paired with the vehicle, it seamlessly transmits a live view of your trailer to the digital rearview mirror or infotainment system.

Inside, the Sequoia 1794 offers brown leather seats with heating, ventilation and massage function in the front. There are also captain’s chairs in the second row and American walnut trim elements. The model also has special floor mats, a JBL premium audio system and a 14-inch infotainment system.

In addition to the new 1794 trim, the 2025 Sequoia gets a Mudbath paint job exclusive to the TRD Pro. Massaging seats are also new and come standard on the aforementioned 1794, as well as the Platinum and Capstone.

That seems to be the extent of the changes, and all models are powered by a familiar i-Force Max powertrain. It consists of a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6, a 1.87 kWh nickel-metal hydride battery, and an electric motor effectively sandwiched between the engine and a ten-speed automatic transmission. This setup gives the model a combined output of 437 hp (326 kW / 443 PS) and 583 lb-ft (790 Nm) of torque.

Pricing starts at $62,175, which is a significant jump from last year’s price of $61,275. Unfortunately, this increase is not fixed, as the Capstone shoots up from $78,265 to $83,665, an increase of $5,400. The Platinum also sees a huge jump, from $73,865 to $79,320.
