Trump uses digital trading cards to campaign

Donald Trump is using his campaign break to sell a new batch of digital trading cards.

The former president announced on Tuesday the release of the fourth round of his non-fungible tokens (NFTs), with this series called the “America First” edition.

It contains 50 images of Trump in various poses, including a striking image of the Republican presidential candidate in an Iron Man-style suit.

On his Truth Social platform, Trump said the cards were “back due to popular demand.” They cost $99 each.

“These cards show me dancing and even holding a few bitcoins in my hand,” he revealed.

Trump, who was not campaigning on Tuesday, has been widely ridiculed for his past issues of the so-called collectibles, but claims an earlier issue earned him more than $4 million.

Trump explains that buyers will receive a physical card when they purchase 15 or more digital cards, and that each of the physical cards will include a piece of the suit he wore to the debate against President Joe Biden on June 27. The televised disaster for Biden eventually led to him stepping down as the Democratic Party’s nominee and then being replaced by Vice President Kamala Harris.

“People call it the ‘knock-out suit’ – I don’t know if that’s true – but that’s what they call it,” Trump said.

Those who spend big on the card are promised tickets to a Trump gala in Florida next month and drinks with the former president.

Once again, Trump’s efforts were ridiculed.

“Harris’ campaign should pay for the show to air in swing states,” wrote “Pod Save America” co-host and former Barack Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau.
