Turner Center announces 2024 literary fair

VALDOSTA – The Turner Center will host the 2024 Literary Fair, which will also mark the launch of the 5th annual Writing Contest.

The Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts will host the 2024 Turner Center Literary Fair on Saturday, September 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Turner Center Galleries, 527 N. Patterson Street, in Valdosta. The Literary Fair will kick off the Turner Center’s 5th annual Art of Writing competition for area youth. The event will also showcase the Turner Center’s Young Writers League, Writers League and other literary resources available at the Center.

The call for authors runs until September 1st. The literary fair will feature local and regional writers and authors who can exhibit, read and sell their works. All authors will receive a sales table with two chairs and the opportunity to lead a workshop focusing on an aspect of the writing craft.

The Share the Magic Foundation will offer a special reading by Malcolm Mitchell and a free copy of Malcolm’s book, The Magician’s Hat, to the first 150 youth at the event. Snake Nation Press and the South Georgia Regional Library will also have offerings at the literary fair that support aspiring and published authors of all ages.
