This middleweight championship fight will take place on August 18, 2024 at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia.

Adding to the excitement was the fact that popular rapper Drake attracted a lot of attention with his bold move.
On his social media page, the Canadian artist shared a betting slip with an incredible $450,000 bet on Adesanya to win. Drake, who tagged the Nigerian-born fighter in his post, expressed his support with the caption: “Always with Izzy.”
Drake relies on Adesanya
Drake, who is known for his betting, has not hidden his bias ahead of the upcoming fight. The 37-year-old rapper is also a close friend of Adesanya, who is popularly known as “The Last Stylebender.”
However, Drake’s betting record is not exactly great. The fighters he bets on usually lose.
According to a report in USA Today, Drake has a history of losing bets on a variety of sports, leading to the belief in a so-called “Drake Curse.”

This has led some to speculate that his endorsement could herald a possible defeat for Adesanya.
Adesanya himself has already fallen victim to this “curse” when he lost his belt to Sean Strickland. Ironically, Strickland suffered the same fate and lost his fight against du Plessis despite having Drake’s support.
It remains to be seen whether Adesanya will once again succumb to the much-discussed “Drake curse.”
If Adesanya actually defeats the South African on fight night, Drake can earn a whopping $855,000 from his $450,000 stake.
Du Plessis sends message to Adesanya
TUKO.co.ke reported that Du Plessis sent a message to Adesanya on his Instagram page ahead of their highly anticipated middleweight title fight at UFC 305.
The fight is about bragging rights, and if Du Plessis wins, UFC President Dana White promises an event will be hosted in his home country of South Africa.
