These preliminary predictions for UFC Vegas 96: Cannonier vs. Borralho are brought to you by BetOnline. BetOnline is the market leader in sports betting, offering various options from UFC odds to wrestling and everything in between.

This weekend we’re back at the Apex for UFC Vegas 96: Cannonier vs. Borralho. After looking at my three favorite main card bets earlier in the week, it’s time we gave the upcoming prelims some love as well.

Now let’s take a look at the latest odds and best bets for Saturday night’s preliminary fights because we want to do better than last week.

UFC 305 preliminary predictions: 3-4-0

Best pre-round bets for UFC 305: 1-6-0

Odds and predictions for the preliminary round of UFC Vegas 96

UFC Vegas 96: Cannonier vs. Borralho. Odds from BetOnline as of Friday, August 23, 11:28 a.m. ET.

Odds for Dennis Buzukja vs. Francis Marshall – Lightweight

  • Record: Dennis Buzukja (12-4) vs. Francis Marshall (7-2)
  • Money line: Dennis Buzukja (+120) | Francis Marshall (-140)
  • Round total: 2.5 — Over (-210) | Under (+170)
  • Last 10 fights: Buzukja – 8-2 | Leonardo – 7-2

While Francis Marshall is the favorite in this UFC preliminary fight, the 25-year-old American last lost to Isaac Dulgarian by first-round TKO a year ago. Now he faces Dennis Buzukja, who recovered from an 0-2 start with a KO win over Connor Matthews five months ago.

Although the odds are against him, I take Buzukja wins tomorrow. He’s the better striker of the two, and his 72% takedown defense should help thwart any of Marshall’s grappling attempts. This fight could well be a tight one right to the end, but Buzukja has what it takes to pull off an upset.

Buzukja vs. Marshall Prediction: Dennis Buzukja

Best bet Buzukja vs. Marshall: Buzukja ML (+120)

Zachary Reese vs. Jose Medina odds — Middleweight

  • Record: Zachary Reese (7-1) vs. Jose Medina (11-3)
  • Money line: Zachary Reese (-645) | Jose Medina (+470)
  • Round total: 1.5 – Over (+135) | Under (-165)
  • Last 10 fights: Reese – 7:1 | Medina – 7:3

Zachary Reese is the clear favorite in this middleweight fight, and it’s not hard to see why. Each of the Shiner, Texas native’s first seven wins came via some sort of first-round victory, including when he defeated Julian Marquez by technical knockout in 20 seconds in June. Although Jose Medina has built a solid MMA career, he proved he may not be ready for the UFC with a unanimous decision loss to Magomed Gadzhiyasulov on June 17. Dana White’s Contender Series 2023.

Given the way this fight is developing, we should not think too much about it. Back Reese wins in round 1 before moving on to the next fight.

Prediction for Reese vs. Medina: Zachary Reese

Best Reese vs. Medina bet: Reese in Round 1 (+110)

Viacheslav Borshchev vs. James Llontop odds — Lightweight

  • Record: Viacheslav Borshchev (7-4-1) vs. James Llontop (14-3)
  • Money line: Viacheslav Borshchev (-230) | James Llontop (+195)
  • Round total: 1.5 — Over (-200) | Under (+160)
  • Last 10 fights: Borshchev – 5-4-1 | Llontop – 9-1

It’s hard to get really excited about this lightweight fight. Viacheslav Borshchev – despite being the favorite – is just 1-3-1 in his last five fights and was beaten by Chase Cooper just three months ago. And while James Llontop may still have a bright future ahead of him, his shine has faded somewhat following a first-round submission loss to Chris Padilla in his UFC debut.

I am not a big fan of either fighter, so I predict that this fight will not go the full distance. Borschev has a win rate of 85.7%, while Llontop’s last seven fights have failed to go the distance in five cases. I just can’t imagine either lightweight making it through all three rounds in Sin City.

Borshchev vs. Llontop Prediction: Viacheslav Borshchev

Best bet on Borshchev vs. Llontop: Fight will not go the full distance (-150)

Jacqueline Cavalcanti vs. Josiane Nunes odds — Women’s Bantamweight

UFC Vegas 96: Cannonier vs. Borralho - Pre-fight odds and best bets

  • Record: Jacqueline Cavalcanti (6-1) vs. Josiane Nunes (14-3)
  • Money line: Jacqueline Cavalcanti (-220) | Josiane Nunes (+185)
  • Round total: 2.5 — Over (-260) | Under (+200)
  • Last 10 fights: Cavalcanti – 6-1 | Nunes – 9-1

Jacqueline Cavalcanti enters UFC Vegas 96 on a four-fight winning streak, most recently defeating Zarah Fairn by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 226. A tougher test awaits her in the form of Josiane Nunes, who will be looking to bounce back from a UD loss to Chelsea Chandler in her return to bantamweight.

With the better hitting performance and the better defense overall, I see Cavalcanti stands with his head held high on Saturday night. However, Nunes has avoided finishing during her 11-year MMA career, meaning it is more likely that the Favorite wins on points this time.

Cavalcanti vs. Nunes Prediction: Jacqueline Cavalcanti

Best bet Cavalcanti vs. Nunes: Cavalcanti on points (-120)

Zygimantas Ramaska vs. Nathan Fletcher odds — Featherweight

  • Record: Zygimantas Ramaska (9-2) vs. Nathan Fletcher (8-1)
  • Money line: Zygimantas Ramaska (+135) | Nathan Fletcher (-155)
  • Round total: 1.5 – Over (+100) | Under (-130)
  • Last 10 fights: Ramaska – 8-2 | Fletcher – 8-1

Featherweights Zygimantas Ramaska and Nathan Fletcher will make their debuts on Saturday. Ramaska has currently won three fights in a row, three of them by knockout, while Fletcher has defeated seven of his first nine opponents, with four of his wins coming in round 1.

I haven’t seen much of either fighter, so I’m taking the Fight should last less than 1.5 roundsAfter all, eight of Ramaska’s last ten fights have ended in the under, while three of Fletcher’s last seven fights have done the same – including his most recent appearance.

Prediction for Ramaska vs. Fletcher: Nathan Fletcher

Best Bet for Ramaska vs. Fletcher: u1.5 total rounds (-130)

Odds for Wang Cong vs. Victoria Leonardo – Women’s Flyweight

  • Record: Wang Cong (5-0) vs Victoria Leonardo (9-5)
  • Money line: Wang Cong (-1200) | Victoria Leonardo (+800)
  • Round total: 1.5 — Over (-210) | Under (+170)
  • Last 10 fights: Wang – 5:0 | Leonardo – 6:4

Undefeated Wang Cong will be looking to maintain her flawless record after defeating Paula Luna earlier this year. Victoria Leonardo may have more experience, but she too is 1-3 in her last four fights after losing to Natalia Silva by first-round TKO over 15 months ago.

Given Leonardo’s recent losses and his one-year layoff, it is a no-brainer Wang by KO/TKOThe 32-year-old newcomer is, after all, a former kickboxing world champion, while Leonardo’s last three defeats were all by knockout.

Wang vs. Leonardo Prediction: Wang Cong

Best Wang vs Leonardo Bet: Wang via KO/TKO (-115)
