Uisce Éireann completes repair work on Sliabh Breá reservoir

Customers at higher elevations may experience low pressure for several hours while reservoir levels recover.

Uisce Éireann announces that its teams have successfully completed repairs following a pump failure at Sliabh Breá Reservoir, affecting supplies in Blakestown, Kilpatrick, Smarmore and surrounding areas.

Most customers now have normal water supplies restored and water levels in reservoirs in Blakestown continue to rise. Customers in higher areas may experience low pressure for several hours while reservoir levels recover.

In some cases, the water may become discoloured as a result of the repairs. If discolouration does occur, the water can usually be cleared by running the tap for several minutes. For more information, visit www.water.ie/water-supply/supply-issues/discoloured-water/.

James O Hagan of Uisce Éireann acknowledged the impact on customers: “On behalf of Uisce Éireann, I would like to thank customers affected by this unplanned outage for their patience and cooperation.”

An alternative water supply remains in place in the church of Ballapousta. Water from the tanker must be boiled as a precaution.
