Ukrainian NGO launches free Ukrainian language course for international volunteers on Ukraine’s Independence Day

In a heartwarming gesture of support for Ukraine and international volunteers, Language Lab in partnership with Ukraїner launched a free “Ukrainian Language Course for Volunteers” on Ukraine’s Independence Day.

The aim is to impart basic language skills that will help volunteers to communicate effectively and cope with everyday life in the country.

Ksenia Holubytska, Director and Founder of Language Lab, said: “We are proud to launch this course as a sign of our support for the volunteers who are making a difference during these difficult times. Languages are not just about vocabulary; they are about connection and collaboration, and we are committed to encouraging this in our community of learners.”

The main features of the course include:

  1. A self-study program divided into three parts, each with six lessons focusing on practical vocabulary.
  2. Topics from important areas such as greeting, emergency situations, air raid warnings, humanitarian aid and medical care.
  3. Interactive elements including informational videos, practical tasks and opportunities for pronunciation feedback.
  4. Community engagement to encourage volunteers to interact, practice together and support each other during their learning process.

The course structure ensures that participants master key expressions that will be crucial to their volunteer work. After each video lesson, learners can practice the target vocabulary through exercises and receive feedback from the Language Lab team. By providing volunteers with language tools, Language Lab aims to make their experience in Ukraine more meaningful and impactful.

Interested volunteers can register for the course here.

Founded in 2016, Language Lab has a track record of teaching Ukrainian to foreigners both in person and online. With over 800 satisfied students, the school offers a community-oriented approach to language learning.
