US Signal strengthens presence in Michigan with acquisition of Detroit North data center

Ready for business

There is a lot to like about the US Signal data center for existing and new customers.

The 75,000 square foot Detroit North Data Center is available for immediate lease, offering 4 MW of available power with the ability to expand up to 8 MW. This facility is designed to accommodate significant expansion, including over 5 megawatts of critical IT load capacity, 24/7 staffing, and best-in-class multi-layered security measures that meet stringent Tier III standards for redundancy and reliability.

Designed to meet the increasing demand for AI and high power applications, the facility features 1500 m2 of raised floor space with ample room for expansion.

In addition, the Detroit data center acquired by US Signal meets high compliance standards: It is SSAE 18-certified, HIPAA-compliant and PCI-certified, ensuring the highest level of security for all hosted data.

Strengthening the workforce

The purchase of US Signal not only offers better options to its customer base, but also creates new local jobs.

To meet increased operational demands, US Signal plans to expand its on-site workforce, add additional office space, and hire several new employees to meet the evolving needs of its customer base.

US Signal will also build a 6-mile fiber optic ring around the Detroit North Data Center. This will further improve connectivity and ensure seamless, high-speed data exchange for its customers.

An open house will be announced following the facility’s renovations this fall. The commitment of several US Signal customers to use space in the new Detroit North Data Center underscores the strong market demand for best-in-class digital infrastructure services.

White said he views the Detroit North facility as an important facility that provides customers with another option for data center and network services. “Building on our success with the Indianapolis North Data Center, the Detroit North facility is well on its way to becoming a central hub for network connectivity and digital infrastructure services,” he said.
