USAA President and CEO Wayne Peacock to retire in 2025

SAN ANTONIO – USAA announced Monday that President and CEO Wayne Peacock plans to retire in the first half of 2025 after a 36-year career with the company.

“Serving our members has been my greatest honor. Every day, I am inspired by our teammates who accomplish their mission and go above and beyond when our members need us most,” Peacock said. “I am grateful for the trust millions of military families place in us to help them achieve financial security.”

Peacock has been part of the company since 1988. Peacock became CEO in 2020 after taking over the position from former President and CEO Stuart Parker.

Peacock is the first civilian leader of the San Antonio-based company.

During his time as CEO, Peacock helped the company weather the coronavirus pandemic, raised USAA’s minimum wage, provided paid time for professional development and improved employee mental health and family support benefits, the company said in a press release.

Under his leadership, members were paid out nearly two billion dollars annually in distributions, dividends, bank rebates and bonuses, the press release continued.

“The board is reviewing its list of internal and external candidates and Wayne will remain on board to ensure a smooth transition,” said Jim Zortman, USAA board chairman.
