Gary Sinise, actor and founder of the Gary Sinise Foundation, talks about how 9/11 motivated him to become more involved with the military.
Veterans banners are available for purchase from the Community Improvement Corporation of Shelby, providing friends and family a visible way to honor a veteran who has served or is serving our country.
The double-sided banners will be prominently displayed throughout downtown Shelby throughout November, coinciding with Veterans Day.

The cost of a new banner is $150. Those who wish to display a previously purchased banner can do so for $75.
“We are honored to provide the community with an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the veterans who have made significant contributions to our country,” said Jake Penwell, president of Shelby CIC. “These banners not only honor the individual veterans, but also serve as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices of all who have served.”
