Virgin Voyages has partnered with Virgin Red to launch the Virgin Red Rewards Mastercard, a new credit card with a variety of perks, according to a press release.

The new credit card will be issued by Synchrony and is scheduled to launch in fall 2024. It offers the opportunity to earn three Virgin Points per dollar spent on purchases at Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Hotels and Virgin Voyages. In addition, cardholders will earn two Virgin Points per dollar spent on dining, groceries, select streaming services and electric vehicle charging, and one Virgin Point per dollar spent on all other Mastercard purchases. Virgin Points can be redeemed for a range of rewards through Virgin Red and Virgin Atlantic Flying Club.

Nirmal Saverimuttu, CEO of Virgin Voyages, said: “We are always looking for new ways to reward our loyal passengers, which is why we are delighted to be working with Virgin’s travel companies to launch the Virgin Red Rewards Card. Andrea Burchett, Chief Loyalty Officer and Managing Director of Virgin Red, added: “We are delighted to partner with Virgin’s great travel companies to offer our US members the opportunity to convert their everyday spend into Virgin Points. The Virgin Red Rewards Card is the first of its kind in the industry to include flights, cruises and hotels – it’s your passport to more flights across the Atlantic, more trips to Caribbean hotspots and more Bellinis at The Pool Club.”

For an annual fee of $99, cardholders can choose from six exclusive Virgin perks twice a year, one available upon $15,000 in spending and the other upon $30,000 in spending. Current perks include:

  • A Flying Club reward voucher for a companion seat or cabin upgrade on Virgin Atlantic.
  • One free night’s stay at a participating Virgin hotel.
  • A suite upgrade at a participating Virgin hotel.
  • Up to $300 cash bill on Virgin Voyages.
  • Virgin Voyages’ Blue Extras Perk package includes laundry service, an exclusive cocktail party and daily coffee credits.

To celebrate the card’s launch, Virgin Red is offering a 40,000 Virgin Points bonus to new cardholders who spend $3,000 in their first 90 days. Other benefits include no foreign transaction fees, 2,500 Virgin Points for adding another user (up to four) and an annual anniversary bonus of 5,000 Virgin Points. Cardholders also receive 25 Flying Club Tier Points for every $2,500 they spend (up to 50 per month) and a third night free when they book two nights at a participating Virgin hotel annually.

Cardholders receive World Elite Mastercard rewards, including travel, shopping and wellness benefits, as well as Mastercard security protection. Virgin Points can be redeemed for flights, cruises, hotel stays and other rewards.

They can now earn and redeem Virgin Points to use on their next UK adventure with Virgin Atlantic. They can stay at the brand new Virgin Hotels London-Shoreditch before setting off on a Virgin Voyage from ports across Europe. We can’t wait for even more people to experience our award-winning clubhouses and onboard experiences, made possible by our amazing people.”

“At Virgin Hotels, we are all about delivering real value and compelling experiences to our guests,” said James Bermingham, CEO of Virgin Hotels Collection. “We are delighted to be partnering with our friends at Virgin to launch the Virgin Red Rewards Card.
