Watch the moment an influencer goes from “vulgar and tasteless” to “classy and elegant” by simply throwing away her cheap, trendy purchases

A fashion influencer has wowed people after she abandoned her “vulgar” style and embraced a more “elegant” wardrobe.

Followers of style icon Antonia Higham recognize her by her effortlessly chic look – but although she exudes elegance today, it wasn’t always this way.

As a video on TikTok revealed, the stunning redhead looked very different before her epic glow-down – a term that describes the emphasis on natural beauty – than she does today.

Years ago, the UK-based fashionista could be caught following the latest high street trends, such as tiny latex dresses with a large bust and a bronzed complexion with fake tan.

Often the “trashy” garments were also slit high to show off her toned legs in shiny heels and Antonia also seemed to love heavy make-up.

The young beauty styles her long locks in waves and covers her face with thick makeup, lots of contour and bronzer for a styled look, thick brows, dark eye makeup and a glossy pout.

Other wardrobe favorites she showed off in the clip included figure-hugging neon dresses with thin spaghetti straps and a glittery two-piece with high-rise shorts and strappy gladiator-style sandals.

The young woman herself now describes her old style as “vulgar,” but she was merely following the trends that were in fashion at the time.

Until Antonia found her true and authentic style and “became the cultured woman he could never have.”

The fashion guru, who has nearly 480,000 followers under her profile @antoniahigham, has ditched jewelled bras and huge diamond-studded hoop earrings and completely transformed her look.

While her younger self blindly followed the latest trends, Antonia is now all about the so-called “old money” glamour, where quality is valued more highly than quantity.

The influencer still wears dresses – but these look more elegant because the floor-length dresses are decorated with pearls.

Her beauty routine has also undergone a major change – and the days of dazzling highlighters and intense contouring are long gone.

Without her old “cheesy” style and with her thick eyelashes, Antonia is unrecognizable at all – and even social media users are surprised by the stark difference.

Thousands left comments sharing their thoughts on her “level-up journey,” which went viral on the platform.

One fan of the epic transformation said: “You look so classy now and yes, that is an improvement.”

How to look chic even on a small budget

Fashion stylist Gemma Rose Breger and beauty journalist Samantha Silver have revealed how you can upgrade your outfits without spending hundreds of pounds.

  1. Never spend money on designer jeans: River Island “always has a great selection of fashionable jeans that follow current trends.” The retailer offers a wide range of sizes from UK 6 to UK 18 and three leg lengths – and prices start from an affordable £25.
  2. There are no rules for jewels: “Buy something at a flea market or thrift store, browse Vinted and eBay, grab something from the clothing section of your local supermarket while grocery shopping, or check out the clothing stores around the corner downtown.”
  3. Don’t forget the second-hand sites: With the rise of second-hand websites like Vinted and Depop, there’s no excuse not to buy – or sell – second-hand clothes. Gemma, for example, managed to snap up a chic pair of Chanel sunglasses for just £17.

Someone else agreed, writing: “The elegance look makes you look like a duchess.”

“In either case, beautiful! I’m glad you found yourself, but that’s all that matters, darling,” a third thought.

“No way! I’ve been following you for a while,” said one loyal fan, unable to believe his eyes.

“Never thought you dressed differently before. Level up completed.”
