He was reportedly unconscious for several minutes after an altercation in which another man punched him in the jaw.

Wayne shared a photo showing him wearing sunglasses and a cut on the right side of his chin, giving a thumbs up at a wellness cafe in Ibiza.

He wrote: “I wanted to write this post to let everyone know I’m OK… I have a few stitches and a swollen lip.

“It could have been a lot worse, so I consider myself very lucky that I wasn’t standing two meters further back, otherwise I would have hit my head against the wall.

“Of course the video is very disturbing, especially for my family.

“The documentation was very accurate and it was just me trying to protect a girl from harassment.

“Thank you all for your messages of concern. The support has been truly overwhelming.”

His nephew and son of Gary Lineker commented: “LOL: “The very last.”

Wayne seems to have become estranged from his brother.

It is not known whether anyone was arrested in connection with the incident.
