The third annual Cancer Patient Services Flock Walk and 5K will be held on Saturday, September 14, at the University of Findlay Koehler Center and outside on campus.th.
This is a family friendly event with other activities! Come join us and run with your family, friends and neighbors to support local cancer patients!
WFIN’s Chris Oaks hosted Carol Metzger and Mackenzie Wagner to talk about the event.
The 5K portion of the event is a fun run and is not professionally timed. If you don’t like running, don’t worry! We also offer a 1 mile family walk.
The upcoming walk will begin with an indoor loop led by survivors from the local community. The event will include activities such as running, walking, bouncy houses, and yard games, among others. Participants can honor or remember their loved ones by purchasing flamingo yard signs that will decorate the path and can be collected at the end. Prior to the event, decorating the flamingos, which are available at our office, is encouraged.
If decorating isn’t your thing, we’ll be happy to do it for you. You’ll also have the opportunity to win big with raffle baskets donated by local businesses and individuals. There’s also a Visa card raffle where you can win a Visa gift card valued at $1,500, $750, $500 or $250. Raffle baskets can be purchased on-site, while Visa raffle tickets can be purchased in advance. We appreciate your support and welcome inquiries via email at (email protected).
