What channel is the Cowboys game on today? Start time, commentators and more

The Dallas Cowboys’ season finale is here. Can you believe it? The first day of training camp feels like it was yesterday. Before fans can blink, the Cowboys are on their way to Cleveland for the opening game of Week 1.

While all eyes will once again be on Trey Lance, whose inclusion in the regular season roster was announced by Jerry Jones, other players can also solidify their chances of making the roster with a good game.

That group includes rookie receiver Ryan Flournoy, who caught a touchdown last week, and defensive back Israel Mukuamu, who looks like a reborn player after converting to slot cornerback. But don’t miss the unsung heroes of the preseason and training camp like Kemon Hall, Julius Wood, Buddy Johnson and Josh Ball (!), all of whom are also fighting for a spot on the roster.

With the 53-man rosters being announced on Tuesday, this game is a big one, and here’s all the important information Cowboys fans need to know to watch the game.

Local fans in Dallas and Los Angeles can watch the game on their local CBS affiliate station. Non-local fans should tune into NFL Network, which has a standalone broadcast. Blackout restrictions apply to local fans attempting to watch the game on NFL Network.

The Cowboys’ commentary team will consist of the same rockstar group: Bill Jones as game commentator, Isaiah Stanback as color analyst and Kyle Youmans as live sideline reporter. The NFL Network commentary team has not yet been announced. Last week

The Cowboys and Chargers met in Week 6 last season. It was a sloppy game for Dallas, which rallied in the fourth quarter to pull out a narrow 20-17 victory at So-Field Stadium. Dak Prescott was sacked five times in the game, but he led the offense late in the fourth quarter and set up Brandon Aubrey’s game-winning 39-yard field goal with 2:19 left in regulation.

Before that, you have to go back to the 2022 preseason to see the last time these teams played each other. The Cowboys won 32-18 thanks to a historic performance by then-rookie KaVontae Turpin, who became the first player in nine seasons to return a kickoff and a punt for a touchdown in the same game.

With this performance, Turpin secured a spot on the 53-man roster. With so many position battles still undecided before Saturday’s finale, many Cowboys hope to play even half as well as Turpin did two years ago against the Chargers.
