And students attending Ohio’s colleges and universities for the first time or returning to campus will soon be moving into their dormitories if they haven’t already.
Here you can find information about move-in dates at Ohio’s largest universities.
The University of Akron, August 16-18 and 20-22
At the University of Akron, some students – such as members of the marching band – were able to move in as early as Friday, August 16. However, most students will not move in until between August 20 and 22, according to the UA website. Students must schedule a move-in appointment to receive a key to their room.
The University of Dayton, August 16
According to the University of Dayton website, first-year students will move into their dorms on Friday, August 16. Afterward, the university will host Welcome Weekend, which all first-year students are required to attend.
The University of Cincinnati, August 20-25
Students moving into the University of Cincinnati residence halls must schedule a move-in date, according to the university’s website. Approved early arrivals can move in from August 17 to 19. Freshmen will arrive between August 20 and 22. Senior students will return to the residence halls between August 23 and 25.
Bowling Green State University, Aug. 21-25 August
According to the BGSU website, new students will arrive on campus August 21-22. Returning students will move in between August 24-25. All students must first go through a drive-thru check-in process.
The University of Toledo, 21-23 August
At the University of Toledo, honors students return to campus on August 21. New students move in on August 22. Then it’s time for returning students on August 23. Check the UT website for specific instructions for each residence hall.
Wright State University, Aug. 21-22 and August 24th
Move-in dates for Wright State University’s dorms are August 21 and 22, according to the website. Students who choose to live in University Apartments can move in on August 24. Students must reserve a move-in time to reduce traffic and wait times on move-in day.
Youngstown State University, May 21-24 August
New Youngstown State University students will move into the residence halls on August 21 and 22. Returning students will follow on August 23 and 24. All residents must register for a move-in date and time frame.
Ohio University, May 22-24 August
Freshmen and sophomores will return to Ohio University between August 22 and 24. The exact date and time will depend on the residence hall and floor. Please visit the university website for an exact schedule.
Cleveland State University, May 22-24 August
According to Cleveland State University’s Returning Student Housing Guide, move-in dates are scheduled for August 22-24.
Shawnee State University, May 22-25 August
At Shawnee State University, new and transfer students move into the residence halls on August 22. Returning students move in August 23-24. Late arrivals (who must email the university) move in on August 5, according to the university’s website.
Miami University, May 23-25 August
According to the university’s website, first-year students will move into Miami University’s residence halls on August 23. Returning students will then return on August 24-25. Students will be assigned a block of time for their move.
Central State University, 6th-10th August
According to Central State University’s website, students arrived on campus early, with freshmen moving in on August 6 and 7, and returning students moving in on August 9 and 10.
Xavier University, April 14-15 August
At Xavier University, first-year students arrived on campus between August 14 and 15, according to the university’s website.
Ohio State University, July 14-17 August
Student move-in at Ohio State University began on August 14 and will continue through August 17. All students had to schedule a move-in day and time with the university, according to the university’s website.
Kent State University, 13-15 August
From August 13 to 15, Kent State University students returned to campus. Dates and times were based on the student’s room number and last name, according to the university’s website.
