Minyon Moore, a Chicago native with exceptionally close ties to President Joe Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, is also chair of the 2024 Democratic National Convention committee, which began Monday.
So who is she? Moore was a longtime political consultant to the Democrats and began her political career in 1984 working on the Reverend Jesse Jackson’s presidential campaign. She then worked in former President Bill Clinton’s White House and was the former executive director of the Democratic National Committee.

After President Joe Biden stepped down, clearing the field for Vice President Kamala Harris to be the Democratic Party’s nominee in July, Moore worked behind the scenes to “slightly” restructure the convention’s program to highlight Harris’ values and introduce her to American voters.
Minyon Moore’s previous roles in the White House
She worked as a nominating counsel for engagement under the Biden-Harris administration, where she launched a nationwide awareness campaign for the confirmation of the first African-American woman to the Supreme Court of the United States, Associate Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.
Moore also served as Assistant to the President and White House Director of Political Affairs during the Clinton administration. In that role, she was the principal policy adviser to former President Bill Clinton, former Vice President Al Gore, former First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and senior White House staff. While serving in the Clinton administration, her primary responsibilities included planning public relations and directing White House political activities.
