In case you haven’t heard the news yet, Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck and headed to Los Angeles Superior Court to make things official on the second anniversary of their Georgia wedding…which we think was a pretty!!!! move. But according to an insider, J.Lo’s deliberate timing didn’t “hurt” Ben.
“Jennifer said she was tired of being humiliated by Ben and she waited until the second anniversary because she wanted to pierce,” a source told Daily Mail“But it didn’t hurt him. He’s been through it for a long time and deep down she knows it. He let her do it so she wouldn’t look like the bad guy.”
In the meantime, J.Lo’s friends want her to focus on herself and think about what the future holds for her during this transition.
“After four failed marriages, her friends believe she should look within herself and focus on herself rather than what others expect of her and finally figure out who she is and what she wants from her future,” the insider explains.
One is the future does hold? Lots of divorce negotiations because Jen and Ben don’t have a prenuptial agreement – not to mention a potentially awkward upcoming press tour because…
In case you haven’t heard, Bennifer made a film together called Unstoppable, The premiere is scheduled for September at TIFF (the theatrical release is in December).
Unstoppable The film stars J.Lo and was produced by Ben’s production company Artists Equity. He spoke openly about working with his then-wife on the film (which is about wrestler Anthony Robles) CBS Sunday Morning in March 2023 and said, “What fun, what a joy to do things with her, to see how amazing she is, to go to work with your wife, to go to work with your best friend.”
