Woman says man from dating app tracked her down and came to her home uninvited: Highland Heights police report

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ohio

Unwanted Guest: North Legend Court

A woman said on August 11 that a man she met on a dating app showed up at her home uninvited without her giving him her address.

Officers attempted unsuccessfully to reach the 72-year-old Strongsville man and inform him that the woman did not wish to have any further communication with him.

Driving under the influence: Interstate-271

On August 7, a vehicle left the road and came to a stop in front of a highway sign.

Officers determined that the driver was clearly under the influence of alcohol. He was given a breathalyzer test and performed poorly.

The man did not want to provide full identification, but the registered owner of the vehicle was contacted and explained that she had recently sold him the car and he had just paid the last installment.

After his identification, the 50-year-old Erie man was charged with DUI and was charged with failure to maintain control, driving while license suspended and possession of false license plates. He was transported to a hospital at his request.

It also turned out that there was an arrest warrant against him.

Youth Complaints: Miner Road

A resident reported on August 7 that he saw a small child sitting on his porch.

Officers checked surrounding homes and the Goddard School and later discovered that the child lived just a few houses away.

The girl was reunited with her mother without incident.

Disruption: Brainard Road

A caller reported on August 8 that she had just arrived at her friend’s house and her friend told her to call 911.

Officers helped resolve the incident without further incident.

Disruption: Ford Road

On August 8 at around 9 p.m., officers responded to a residence because a woman reported an argument with her father after she went into the house to retrieve some personal items.

Lyndhurst police provided mutual aid because there were reports that the father had said he would shoot anyone who entered the house.

The situation was resolved without violence. Officers helped the woman pack up some of her belongings and arranged for an officer to return with her the next day to take the rest of her belongings.

The 58-year-old father was informed of an outstanding arrest warrant and said he would take care of it.

Domestic Violence: Stanwell Drive

A 16-year-old boy was charged with domestic violence on August 8 following an altercation with his 18-year-old brother at the boy’s home.
