Woody’s Orchard Fall Festival, Labor Day Weekend Festival and More in Kendall County – Shaw Local

Here are five things to do in Kendall County:

1. Oswego Fall Carnival on Labor Day weekend: Windy City Amusements is bringing its rides to the Fall Carnival on Friday, August 30, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, August 31 and September 1, from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Prairie Point Community Park, 4120 Plainfield Road, Oswego. Unlimited ride wristbands are available for $35 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday and $30 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday for $35. Single ride tickets are $1 each, $20 for 20 tickets and $40 for 44 tickets. The carnival accepts cash only; Windy City Amusements ATMs are available for a fee. 2. Woody’s Orchard Fall Festival: From Saturday, August 31, through Sunday, October 27, Woody’s Orchard & Fun Farm will host its Fall Festival. There will be apple picking (more than 27 varieties of apples), apple cider products, fruit desserts and sunflower fields. Pumpkins (with pumpkin picking options and pre-picked pumpkins) will be available toward the end of September. Mini pumpkins are $1.99, small pumpkins are $7 and large pumpkins are $12. Other attractions include a corn maze, animal enclosure, photo opportunities and train rides. The orchard is open Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in September. In October, it is open Thursday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Woody’s is located at 3223 Creek Road, Plano. 3. Escape room: From September 3-28, the Yorkville Public Library is offering an escape room challenge where children must open boxes using clues throughout the library. This is a monthly event that lasts approximately 30 minutes per session. Children should be accompanied by adults; dropping off children is not permitted. To schedule an appointment, those interested can contact the Youth Services Department at 630-553-4354, extension 108, or go directly to the library. 4. Foxtoberfest Beer Festival: Fox Republic Brewing Co., in partnership with Wurst Kitchen, is hosting its second annual Foxtoberfest Friday through Sunday, Sept. 13-15. That shop’s food truck will be at Fox Republic from 4-8 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. There will be a stein-holding contest, exclusive beer releases, live music and more. Contest winners will be announced the following week. A prize will be awarded for the best Oktoberfest costume. Fox Republic Brewing Co. is located at 101 W. Hydraulic St., Yorkville. 5. The 65th Hill Family Fall Craft Festival: The 65th Annual Fall Festival of Crafts will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26 at the Sandwich Fairgrounds, 1401 Suydam Road. About 300 artisans will be in attendance and food will be available. Strollers are not permitted in the buildings. Admission is $5 per person and parking is free.
