WWE injury news: Dakota Kai suffers torn meniscus in knee, requires surgery to repair

In a highly entertaining turn of events, it seems as though DAMAGE CTRL are on the verge of a turnaround. And while this opens up the discussion of former WWE Women’s Champion and ex-leader of the faction, Bayley, potentially returning to them, they currently have a major issue to deal with within their ranks: an injury to Dakota Kai.

On this week’s episode of RAW, WWE announced that Kai suffered a torn meniscus that will require surgery and is expected to be out for more than 10 weeks while she rehabs. This is her second serious knee injury in recent history, following a torn ACL in 2022.

The injury occurred on the August 5 episode of RAW, when he was attacked backstage by the faction now known as the “Pure Fusion Collective” – namely Zoey Stark, Shayne Baszler and Sonya DeVille.

DeVille herself has only recently recovered from a torn ACL that forced her to give up the Women’s Tag Title along with Chelsea Green, which was then passed on to Piper Niven.

The DAMAGE CTRL faction was already somewhat weakened due to the extended absence of former champion Asuka, who herself has been out for months due to a knee injury.

That leaves only Kairi Zane and Iyo Sky to hold the fort at the moment, but given the opponents they face, they’ll likely need some backup.

One name definitely comes to mind here.

This is someone who used to hug a lot.
