<p dir=“The successful completion of this investigation can only be attributed to the effective coordination between multiple RCMP units including Sicamous RCMP, Salmon Arm RCMP, Chilliwack RCMP, Forensic Identification Services and the Southeast District Major Crime Unit (SED MCU),” said S/Sgt. Jason Smart, SED MCU.

“We hope that the arrest and indictment of Danny Sirvio brings a sense of relief to the Sicamous community and the surrounding area.”

The killing of Wayne Sirvio was the first of three homicides to occur in Sicaumous in the past year and the second to result in charges, according to the RCMP.

On August 2, 2023, Wayne Sirvio was reported missing to the Sicamous RCMP and the search for his whereabouts began.

During the investigation, the police learned that the disappearance was the result of a crime, so the SED MCU took over the investigation.

On August 5, 2023, police executed a search warrant on a Sicamous apartment and found the body of Wayne Sirvio.

The RCMP said there would be no further updates as the case progresses before the courts.
