Now that the temperatures are finally dropping and the signs of fall are swirling through the air like leaves, it seems like the summer that came so quickly into our lives has given way to the sobering fall. As the weeks go by, we’re slowly replacing our bright green nail polish and shabby black eye makeup with things that are much, well, cuter and more mindful.

However, understated doesn’t have to be boring. There are countless ways to bring that chic, upscale energy to your look without falling back into the energy of regular people. As proof, look no further than Kate Beckinsale’s recent hair transformation, which saw the actress trade in her balayage blonde for a striking but subtle pastel pink.

Kate Beckinsale wears “strawberry whipped cream” this fall

When we think of fall hair colors, we tend to think of warm, darker tones like rich browns and honey blondes. But Beckinsale never sticks to the norm, and her recent hairstyle by celebrity hairstylist Dimtris Giannetos is living proof. As Giannetos put it, Beckinsale’s “strawberry whipped cream” hair is the perfect blend of cool, pink tones and ashy blonde, creating a sort of 2024, pared-back and mindful version of Strawberry Shortcake.

Before this change, Beckinsale wore a casual blonde. To create this strawberry style, all Giannetos had to do was apply a generous coat of L’Oréal Paris’ Feria Smokey Pink ($13). The smoky hue of Beckinsale’s pink hair makes it look so grown-up and elevated, and that’s why we’ve added strawberry whipped cream to our list of fall hair options.
