Zach Orr sees positives in Odafe Oweh

The Baltimore Ravens selected outside linebacker Odafe Oweh 31st overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. Although he has yet to truly break through in the NFL, he has shown many traits that could indicate that 2024 is the year he makes it.

When talking about Oweh, defensive coordinator Zach Orr could barely contain his excitement about the fourth-year player. He said there aren’t many players in the league that can do what Oweh can do from the sidelines, and he’s excited to see how Oweh shapes his season this year.

“It’s going to be great, man. It’s going to be great. I think ‘Daf’ (Odafe Oweh) has gotten better every year, and when you look at the film, you see there are a lot of guys in this league that can’t do what he can do on the rim. The guy is so talented, and he made a lot of plays last year, so we expect him to make even more plays this year. The better ‘Daf’ is, the better we’re going to be (as a defense), and he knows that, and he’s put the work in. So he’s looking better so far than he did last year, and I’m excited to see where he takes it.”

With edge rusher Jadeveon Clowney now playing for the Panthers in Carolina, it’s even more important for Oweh to step up and make a big contribution. He’s someone who will also need to step up as a leader considering he’s the second most experienced player in Baltimore’s outside linebacker chamber behind Kyle Van Noy.
