Steve Fletcher’s wife: Is the expert from The Repair Shop married? | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Steve Fletcher has been the lead role in The Repair Shop since the beginning and now his love life is being questioned by curious fans.

The Repair Shop star Steve Fletcher is a third-generation watchmaker and owns a family-run watch workshop in Oxfordshire with his son Fred, who is following in his footsteps as a junior watchmaker. But while his fans are fascinated by his career, many are keen to know more about his personal life when he’s not busy restoring precious objects to their former glory in the heartwarming BBC series.

The Repair Shop star is in a long-term relationship with his partner Mel, with whom he lives in Witney, Oxfordshire.

Steve has previously stated that he would never have signed up to The Repair Shop if it weren’t for Mel.

He told the BBC: “In 2016, I received an email from a company I didn’t know asking if I would be interested in being part of a brand new show.

Is Steve Fletcher from the Repair Shop married?

Although it is not clear whether The Repair Shop star Steve Fletcher is married, it is obvious that he has a loving relationship with Mel, who played a key role in his entry into the BBC show.

He went on to explain how he got on the show: “As I don’t trust anything on the internet, I almost deleted it and would have done so if my partner Mel hadn’t stopped me by saying everything was fine.”

On Instagram, he sometimes gives insights into their relationship, posting, for example, pictures of their hiking weekend together at Pen y Fan in the Brecon Beacons earlier this year.

In addition to being in a relationship with Mel, Steve is also the father of five children: son Fred and four daughters, Amelia, Milly and another whose name has not been publicly disclosed.

Steve is the younger brother of Suzie Fletcher, the actress and leather expert also known from “The Repair Shop”.

He inspired her to join the show to help Suzie deal with her grief after losing her husband to pancreatic cancer in 2013.

She explained: “Every time (Steve) called, he seemed to be having so much fun that I joked, ‘If you need someone for leather, I’m the guy to call.’

“It was really a joke, but after several phone calls and a lot of encouragement from Steve, I was willing to give it a try and joined the team (…) I’m so glad I did because it’s one of the most gratifying things I’ve ever been involved in and it’s also helped me through some very dark days.”

The Repair Shop is available to watch on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
